OPF / GPF DELETE (PARTICULATE FILTER)

What is an OPF/GPF (Particulate Filter)?

An Otto Particulate Filter (OPF) or Gasoline Particulate Filter (GPF) is a filter used in gasoline engines to reduce the emission of harmful particulate matter. These filters capture and store soot particles that are released during fuel combustion, helping to improve air quality and comply with stringent emission standards.

Software Delete

OPF/GPF delete involves the physical removal of the particulate filter and a software modification. If the filter is no longer present in the exhaust system, the ECU will generate multiple error messages, which need to be resolved by adjusting the software. When the OPF/GPF filter is removed, it is necessary to also remove it from the software.

Why Choose for an OPF/GPF Delete?

  • Improved Performance: Removal can lead to a reduction in backpressure in the exhaust system, which can enhance engine performance.
  • Cost Savings: Avoiding expensive replacements or repairs of a clogged or defective filter. Without the OPF/GPF, there are fewer components that require maintenance or cleaning, which can lower long-term maintenance costs.
  • Improved Fuel Efficiency: In some cases, removing the OPF/GPF can lead to better fuel efficiency, as the engine doesn’t have to work as hard to push exhaust gases through a clogged filter.
  • No Error Messages: A damaged or clogged OPF/GPF can cause error messages and warning lights on the dashboard. By removing the filter and adjusting the software, these issues are eliminated.
